This year, PBS assembled a list of America’s best loved 100 novels and aired an 8 part series called “The Great American Read.” The AC Buehler Library’s Summer Reading program will encourage participants to select and read books from this list.
Feel free to read whatever you would normally read over the summer but try to add one or two novels from the “Great American Read” list. We’ll tally up titles at the end of the summer to see what Elmhurst College’s best loved novels are from the list.
Don't forget to record your summer reading of your choosing, drop the logs off at the Reference Desk (attached) and collect your Summer Reading prizes! Pick up one of the Great American Read books from our displays while you are there.
Join us on July 12, 1-2pm, and August 9, 1-2pm, for “The Great American Read at Elmhurst College” book discussions. We’ll have light refreshments and provide an opportunity for you to your summer reading.
