Sample Citations for Images in MLA

Example of a personal photograph:

Page, Elaine. Photograph of Buckingham Fountain. 12 Oct. 2018. Author’s personal collection.

Include your name as the photographer and the date you took the photograph. "Author's personal collection" is just MLA's way of saying "your personal photos."

Example of a photograph found through Google:

Chicago Park District. Photograph of Buckingham Fountain. n.d. Parks and Facilities: Clarence F. Buckingham Memorial Fountain. https://www.chicagoparkdistrict.com/parks-facilities/clarence-f-buckingham-memorial-fountain.

To cite an image found through Google you must identify the Web site where the image was posted. You must click through from Google images to view the image on the site where it was posted Since the artwork is contained in a blog post on a Web site, the works-cited-list entry would be composed of two containers:
