ENG 321 British Literature I: Books

Finding Books

Much literature scholarship lives in books, as collected essays or monographs. You can also use critical editions of books to get an idea of what themes or lenses scholars use to talk about your book and/or your author.

You might want to do some Subject searching as way of getting at what you need more efficiently in the catalog. Just drop down the menu to the right of the search box in the VuFind catalog (the default is Keyword) and select Subject. Then once you have some search results, use the menu on the right to refine your search--look under Topics for things like "History and Criticism", or "Literary Criticism", or words that seem like lenses or themes-- "Social Aspect", "Political Aspect", etc.

Also, don't forget that we have many (many) e-books, which can be viewed on your computer, on campus or off, and are searchable.
