EDU 311/PSY 311 Educational Psychology: Getting Started

Research Paper Guidelines

This major paper synthesizes 6 or more current empirical research articles (no meta-analyses or reviews of literature) published in peer-reviewed journals within the last decade to answer a research question related to educational psychology. Articles should present new data. Do not use articles that only analyze data from published databases or surveys. If you are unsure about whether an article has original data sources, please share the article PDF with the course professor to obtain approval before using it in this project.

The paper should integrate course concepts, principles, and theories with the 6 research articles.  The research articles should all focus on children or adolescents in grades 1 – 12 (no preschoolers, college students, or adults).  APA style is required.  A template and rubric for this paper are provided on Blackboard.  Do not exceed three referenced short quotations in this paper.
