Elements of a Research Question

Every strong research question should meet the following criteria.

  • Researchable

    • Will you be able to find sources to help you answer your question? 

  • Specific

    • Avoid questions that are too broad; at the same time, try not to make it super narrow. 

  • Complex

    • Your research question should not have a yes/no answer or be answered by a fact
